Bosnia annually produces around 110,000 t of fresh plums and waste majority is available for processing. Before break-up, Yugoslavia was biggest producer and exporter of dried prunes in the world. It used to export around 100,000 t to the global market. Since almost all processing facilities in the country are closed, large volumes of plums are wasted and development of new plantations is in stagnation.
Company identified an opportunity to start processing facilities and utilize raw materials available in the country. Two drying tunnels has been installed for production of prunes with daily capacity is 14 t.
